My Step Dad

My stepdad is one of thet two shiploads of U.S. Marines, diverted from joint military exercises elsewhere in the Philippines, joined rescue efforts Sunday. Helicopters ferried men and supplies to the site, and Marines surveyed roads and bridges to see if they could support the weight of heavy military vehicles and equipment.

I thinks it awesome to see our military helping countries in need rather than dropping bombs.

Amesterdam Spring Vacation 2005

Here is a photo from the Cotemporary Photo Museum in Amesterdam. The Dutch people are weird..but hey at least their leeve system kicks ass! OOh ya and Nutella on toast is pretty damn good too.

I can help you discover more music!

Hey guys and dolls here is more music for your ears...Its really cool! Just download the Pandora player and it streams music to your Mac or PC. How it works. The software asks you for what type of music you like artist or song. Then it compiles similar music and it streams it. I am listening to Manu Chao and Gotan Project.

Streaming killed the Radio...and MTV killed the Music Video. But the internet has giving new life to music. Enjoy! You can also click on the icon (CD cover) and you can buy it on Itunes or Amazon.
I need to change my life please

A Short Bio:

The Music Genome Project

On January 6, 2000 a group of musicians and music-loving technologists came together with the idea of creating the most comprehensive analysis of music ever.

Together we set out to capture the essence of music at the most fundamental level. We ended up assembling literally hundreds of musical attributes or "genes" into a very large Music Genome. Taken together these genes capture the unique and magical musical identity of a song - everything from melody, harmony and rhythm, to instrumentation, orchestration, arrangement, lyrics, and of course the rich world of singing and vocal harmony. It's not about what a band looks like, or what genre they supposedly belong to, or about who buys their records - it's about what each individual song sounds like.

Over the past 5 years, we've carefully listened to the songs of over 10,000 different artists - ranging from popular to obscure - and analyzed the musical qualities of each song one attribute at a time. This work continues each and every day as we endeavor to include all the great new stuff coming out of studios, clubs and garages around the world.

The Dracula Orchid in Volcan, Panama

Yes babies this is an orchid! We went to Panama a couple of years ago. We ended up going to an amazing orchid nursery. They had about 3,000 species of orchids. Very beautiful.

Its been almost 6 months

Its been almost 6 months since hurricane Katrina and I am still baffled by finding this stinky machines around the city of New Orleans. Could you imagine having to clean one! I heard it was worse than doing a human autopsy. But if you have insurance it will cover the cost of a new one. I think there where around 400,000 damaged fridges...argh! If they would of only emptied them.

A little story for Valentines Day

A little story for Valentines Day. Remember One Love! And thank God for Truffles!

Many wonder where did Cupid come from and why is he associated with Valentine's Day.

Cupid has long played a role in the celebrations of love and lovers. He is known as a mischievous, winged child, whose arrows who would pierce the hearts of his victims causing them to fall deeply in love. In ancient Greece he was known as Eros the young son of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. To the Roman's he was Cupid, and his mother Venus
One legend tells the story of Cupid and the mortal maiden, Psyche. Venus was jealous of the beauty of Psyche, and ordered Cupid to punish the mortal. But instead, Cupid fell deeply in love with her. He took her as his wife, but as a mortal she was forbidden to look at him. Psyche was happy until her sisters convinced her to look at Cupid. Cupid punished her by departing. Their lovely castle and gardens vanished with him and Psyche found herself alone in an open field

As she wandered to find her love, she came upon the temple of Venus. Wishing to destroy her, the goddess of love gave Psyche a series of tasks, each harder and dangerous than the last. For her last task Psyche was given a little box and told to take it to the underworld. She was told to get some of the beauty of Proserpine, the wife of Pluto, and put it in the box.

During her trip she was given tips on avoiding the dangers of the realm of the dead. And also warned not to open the box. Temptation would overcome Psyche and she opened the box. But instead of finding beauty, she found deadly slumber

Cupid found her lifeless on the ground. He gathered the sleep from her body and put it back in the box. Cupid forgave her, as did Venus. Cupid forgave her, as did Venus. The gods, moved by Psyche's love for Cupid made her a goddess.

Liars!

NYT: White House had eyewitness report of levee break first day. The New York Times reported in its Friday edition that on Monday, Aug. 29, the White House had an eyewitness account that levees had broken in New Orleans. This report, based on two Congressional committee investigations of more than 800,000 pages of documents and testimony and interviews from more than 250 witnesses, runs contrary to the official White House story that it was surprised by the levee break on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Mr. Brown, the former FEMA director, will testify before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Friday. He is expected to confirm that he notified the White House of the levee break on that Monday, but he has not identified the White House official he spoke to.

The Skinny Grammys

Okay so I watched the Grammys last night..boy was it a long show. I wanted to see the clothes and Madonna's performance which was interesting. Can somebody tell her to stop wearing her Buns of Steal outfit! yack!

Anyway I couldn't believe how thin woman looked on stage. Did you see Sheryl Crows chest? Christ I didn't realize you could have sagging boobs when your that thin. Her chest looked like she had swolled a bag of bones.

Oh but the worst of all was Terry Hatcher she looked like a skinny witch with too much botox! Look her forehead is wrinkle free amazing what imbalming fluid can do these days.

I am really disgusted of what the medias definition of beauty has become. Really is not just about being thin is also about looking good and healthy. Its scary to think these are the images we as women and some gay man have to look as examples of beauty!

Wicked: the Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

I bought my hubby Josh the audio version of this book for Christmas or should I say Hanukkah. Its about 18 cds long. I am on cd #14. The book is fantasy and its about the Wicked Witch of the West and how she becomes evil. Her name is Elphaba. The book is pretty good and it talks about politics in OZ, different tribes and of course romance. The vocabulary however is a little over my head and I don't have a dictionary readily available especially when I am driving down the Crescent City Connection bridge. For those who don't know where that is well it is the bridge that the NO evacuees tried to cross-during the storm and the Gretna police shot at them to go back to the Superdome or the Convention Center "shelter from Hell".. I digress. Good read and some adult content.
